Swim Lessons Merritt Island Eileen Blackburn
Proud provider of the safest, most effective self rescue swim lessons for infants and children in Merritt Island, FL

Welcome to Swim Safe Now. My name is Eileen Blackburn and I am a Certified Survival Swim Instructor. All 5 of my children went through this amazing program. I became an instructor in 2000 but had to take a break for a while and now I am back again! I have missed being in the water and I am very passionate about water safety. I am excited to be able to help the community again by teaching children the skills they need to be successful in and around the water.

I am married to my wonderful husband Bryan and have two boys still at home who are very active with baseball. My 2nd oldest daughter made me a NeNe to my sweet granddaughters who are the light of my life! My oldest daughter is an RN at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville and my third daughter is a CBRN in the US Army.

I teach swim lessons at my home in my heated pool in Merritt Island. At this time, I will be offering evening lessons. Swim lessons are 4 days per week, Monday – Thursday for approximately 10-15 each. Lesson times will be from 4:45 – 6:30. I am CPR/First Aid certified.

Please complete our  Contact Form and I will be happy to get back with you as soon as possible with lesson information and availability along with instructions to complete your child’s registration.

Infant Rollback to Float Class

Age: 6-12+ months

Babies who are sitting independently and beginning to crawl learn how to roll onto their back to float, rest and breathe until they can be rescued.

Parents also learn how to practice with their baby to reinforce skills learned in lessons. Once babies are over the age of one and walking, they return to learn the swim-float-swim sequence.

SCHEDULE:
Infant lessons are 4 days per week, Monday – Thursday
*10 minutes per lesson

This class takes an average of *6 weeks to complete

*Lessons end on a performance based exit, not time-based, meaning we end each lesson on the student’s best performance of the skill we are working on that day, before they become fatigued.

*All lessons are individualized to the unique needs and abilities of each student so the exact # of lessons will vary.

Maintenance Lessons

All Ages

After your child has learned to swim and float independently, skill maintenance is crucial! As your child grows and develops, skills need to be fine-tuned and swimming ability should be constantly developed.

Maintenance classes can be scheduled anywhere from once or twice per week to once or twice per month, as needed.

Refresher Lessons

All Ages

If your child has not had the opportunity to practice regularly, skills have regressed or you notice bad habits, it’s time for a refresher!
