#1 swim lessons in Ocala
Proud provider of the safest, most effective, self rescue swim lessons and drowning prevention program in Ocala and Marion County!

It’s been almost 17 years since I took the leap to become an Aquatic Self Rescue Instructor and WOW, has it been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! As a Florida native, I know the dangers we face from the many bodies of water that surround us. This knowledge is what drives me, everyday, to reach as many children as possible, to save as many lives as I can, no ensure “Not One More Child Drowns”.

Since 2008, I have had been blessed to teach thousands of children Aquatic Self Rescue Skills. To see them go from little or no aquatic history to being great aquatic problem solvers in just a few short weeks. In 2013, I earned the title of Master Instructor through additional training and mentoring. This has opened the doors and allowed me to be able to train nearly 30 new Instructors all over the world.

Since my first year of teaching Aquatic Self Rescue Lessons, I have been provided with dozens of survival stories from parents of students that we would have otherwise lost to drowning. I wake up every morning with a mindset to not only decrease the number of drownings in Marion County, but everywhere I am lucky to travel to. I want to leave lessons each day and know that I did everything I could; I taught them as much as I could each day to know they will be safer when they go home at night.

In mid 2020, we were approached by The Villages Fire Department to serve and train the children of the Villages first responders. We are honored they have chosen MCISR and will continue to work hard making their children safe in and around the water through our specialized self rescue swim lessons for infants and children.

As of 2018 MCISR is the preferred choice of Marion County Fire Rescue. We have worked for many years to teaching and training the children in our community. We are honored to be the choice of MCFR and have the opportunity to train the children of our Firefighters, Paramedics and EMTs. Every county employed firefighter has the opportunity to have their child trained in Self-Rescue at minimal cost the family. Our Fire Rescue gives so much to our community, this is the least we can do to give them peace of mind for their own families.

In May 2013, I partnered with Marion County Fire Rescue and City of Ocala Fire Rescue to launch Prepare. Protect. Prevent, A water safety campaign to raise awareness among Marion County residents. During the month of May we traveled to a different facility each week to teach the citizens of Marion County about how they can prevent drowning. Steps you can take to prepare for an emergency situation and how to do hands only CPR in case of an emergency. We hope to make this an annual campaign and educate our citizens about this preventable tragedy.

Nationally, Crossfit is partnered to prepare children for the unexpected. Locally, I have teamed up with Crossfit Pinnacle and Crossfit Ocala Second to None to do the same. Together, with our local Firefighter’s union and some amazing crossfit athletes, we have been able to raise over $7,000, and provide lessons to over 20 of our public service member’s children at no cost to their families.
